THE REFERENDUM BY THE WATER STOPS

In addition to the above, the devastation of ecosystems essential to the water cycle, which is made manifest, for example, the pollution of major rivers of the country and the destruction of the forests and moors, strongly affects the communities and your access to water.

Collection of signatures in support of a referendum on water

On Sunday 16 March, the Committee of Oversight Environment (CAM) of Charalá, in coordination with the Ecological Committee of the Ecole Normale Superieure and group of students, all committed to the protection of water and life, began the process for the preparation of the collection of signatures for a referendum on water. At the conference attended by a large number of normality that are committed to the initiative and that from the beginning of the second stage of collecting signatures have been working hard for the success of the days of collection.

Besides the organizations mentioned above, was very important to involve the parish priests who from previous communications that have taken place, invited from the pulpit to make the call.

The collection of signatures in the municipality of Charalá started then with 974 signatures on Sunday 16 March and 520 on Tuesday, 18.

to the success of this event was of great importance to the dissemination by the media, community radio station Charal STEREO, CHAR Community Channel TV, independent journalists, students, members of the Committee of Oversight Environment (CAM), and in general people they see in this action an initiative of life.
